Dermalogica Review

So I believe that having great skin is vital for your makeup look great as well as keeping your skin looking fresh and healthy. I am always on the hunt for great skincare products as it's important to mix up different treatments rather then settling for one product for a long period. Using one product for a long time can make the skin get used to the product where the results are not very pleasing. Our skin changes due to many factors such as weather, lifestyle and seasons.

I learnt about Dermalogica from a friend and I decided to do some of my own research and found that I could go into Selfridges for a face mapping where the dermatologist at the Dermalogica counter would check my skin and tell me where my problem areas are and they recommend which products would be best suited for my skin. I was so happy with this as I also got some samples to try out the products suited to my skin type for a few days and I LOVED it! The results were great so I purchased the full size products and now I decided to share my thoughts with you beautiful people.

Pre cleanse - £34.35:
I double cleanse by starting off with Pre cleanse which is a plant based cleanser made up of oil, apricot and kukui nut oils which can break down even the harshest of makeup such as waterproof mascara (which can be such pain to remove) and helps your skin to prepare for cleansing. I massage this over my face first with dry hands and let the makeup break down and then add water to change the formula into a milky emulsion which lifts debris from surface of the skin which allows pre cleanse to further penetrate into the skin for a extra cleanse. I have to say this my FAVOURITE product from Dermalogica and I can never part with this product, I even carry a cute mini with me in case I have a makeup emergency.

Special cleansing gel - £49:
Once all the makeup is broken down, it's time to cleanse away any remaining makeup using the Special Cleansing Gel. This is a soap free cleanser which contains calming balm mint and lavender extract, which helps to soothe the skin and removes any unwanted toxins with disturbing the natural balance of the skin.  This is a gel like formula and a little goes a long way. My skin feels super soft and clean after this second step.

Microfoliant - £41.75:
Everyday I exfoliate my skin with the microfoliant, yes EVERYDAY because this product is the most gentlest exfoliator I have ever used. It is a gentle rice based exfoliator that micro exfoliates the dead skin cells to leave my skin feeling extra smooth and soft. What more could you ask for from an exfoliator! It's just perrrrfect!

Multi active toner - £27.30:
Once I finish cleansing I use my trusty multi active toner which helps me prep my skin for moisturising. This is a very light toner and is not too harsh on the skin, it contains arnica and cucumber extracts to keep the skin super smooth and refreshed. This is also a great toner for when your on the go, especially when air travelling, to keep the skin hydrated and refreshed as all the extra air pollution can really mess up the skins natural balance.

Skin smoothing cream - £47.70:
Finishing off with a medium weight moisturiser made for combination/dry skin types. This moisturiser is very nourishing and keep my face super hydrated throughout the day. To nourish the skin there is aloe gel combined with extracts of mallow, cucumber and arnica to help soothe and tone the skin, what more could I ask for! Also a little goes a lonnggg way with this product, YES!

Mulivitamin power firm - £38.40:
Last but certainly not least is a great eye cream which I now swear by. This eye is part of the 'age smart' range from Dermalogica and as I am hitting my mid 20's soon, my under eyes have really been thanking me since I have been using this. This eye cream is perrfect to fight those fine lines around the delicate eye area with added Vitamin C and E it helps to improve the elasticity around the eye area.

So that sums up my thoughts on my favourite products from Dermalogica. Yes these products can be a little on the pricier side but then again I think it's definitely worth it, because my skin feels and looks amazing. Please do remember that everyone's skin type is different so what works for me may not work for you, so the best idea would be to book a face mapping with any Dermalogica counter which can be found in your nearest Selfridges store. All of the products mentioned above work amazing for me as they were suited for my skin type. If any of you guys have tried Dermalogica then I would love to hear your thoughts!
